CHD 270 Administration of Child Care Programs
After completing this course I feel more confident and prepared to manage a child care program appropriately and successfully. I have learned about what goes into administering a child care program, to include areas like marketing, budgeting, family counseling, human resources, and law. To be a successful child care administrator you have to know how to plan effectively and ethically for the benefit of children. I also learned about the importance of ongoing training for staff. My artifact from this course was budget assignment. In this assignment I got to compare what my budget was planned for at first versus what was the actual cost later on. I would say that the greatest lesson I learned was how to prioritize what was important for children with their safety being first followed by their quality of education. I learned how to manage budget and plan for unexpected outcomes.
